Key Recommendations

• Step 1: Education, self-help, and bibliotherapy
• Step 2: Low-intensity psychological interventions — individual CBT or applied relaxation
• Step 3: High-intensity psychological interventions (CBT) or pharmacotherapy
• First-line medication: SSRI (sertraline) — if contraindicated, SNRI
• Offer benzodiazepines only for short-term crisis management (2-4 weeks max)
• Pregabalin second-line after SSRI/SNRI failure
