• Fluid replacement is essential—offer frequent small sips of water or electrolyte solutions to restore hydration and prevent progression to heat stroke
• Monitor for warning signs of heat stroke (confusion, loss of consciousness, seizures) which necessitate emergency ambulance attendance; heat exhaustion can rapidly deteriorate without appropriate intervention
